The task you are going to do is to create an oral presentation about some selected animals and then to present it in front of the class. You will select 5 animals per group and you will collect the following information for each of them:.
You will create a Power Point presentation and each member of the group will study a different animal but in the final presentation all members of the group must know about all the animals beacuse the classmates can ask any questions about all the animals in the group.
3. PROCESS
A) The first activity is looking for information and makig a file for each animal. Here you have the fields you have to complete:
FILE:
- Name.
- Image.
- The place where the animal lives.
- What does he eat?
- How many breeding does he have?
- Are there many or little of these animals?
Complete the files with the RESOURCES. Look for information in the following web pages:
+ Information about wild animals
or watch these videos with lots of ideas
B) Now, collect the information and complete the animal's file.
You need to put all the ideas in a Power Point Presentation or if you prefer you can use paper and show it in the final presentation. You have to include pictures of your animals. Follow these indications:
- Name and fotographs
- Where does he live?
- What does he eat?
- How many children does he have?
- What does he do?
- How is the climate where he lives?
C) For the presentation you will explain some important facts about the animal you have chosen, so you need to prepare this part by writing ten sentences about the animal. Here you have some examples:
- My animal lives in the forest.
- My animal has many children
- My animal does not live in cold places.
- My animal needs a lot of sun.
We will revise all the sentences in class before the final presentation
4. EVALUATION
After the oral presentation in class, we will evaluate our work. I will evaluate your presentations but your classmates will evaluate you as well. So, you have to prepare it very well in advance.
Evaluation is very important because we can see how good or how bad we have done the presentation.
With an evaluation we can see our mistakes and correct them next time. All the children in class are involved in everyboby else's presentation.
For a correct evaluation here I have an evaluation scale:
- Use of Internet: excelent good bad
- Information collected: excelent good bad
- Cooperation of the members of the group: excelent good bad
- Pronunciation in the oral presentation: excelent good bad
- Creativity in the explanation: excelent good bad
